There are separate didactic sequences for Year I and Year II, with a summer interviewing course and two monthly case conferences in common. Residents are expected to attend weekly departmental grand rounds. There is a required scholarly paper focusing on an evidence-based topic during Year II and an ongoing quality improvement project.
Residents take the PRITE as a PG-4 and the Child PRITE each year, and Mock Boards are held as an annual clinical skills examination. There are residents’ meetings with the chief resident as well as an annual departmental residents’ retreat. The Program Evaluation Committee has resident representatives and meets quarterly.
