The laboratory is focused on discovering neurochemical profiles of drug-induced or genetic models of neuropsychiatric disorders in rodents. We use high-resolution proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (HR-MAS 1H-MRS) and HPLC-EC to assess profiles in anatomically discrete, intact samples of brain tissue. Besides insight into the neurobiology of a particular disorder, the 1H-MRS data have high potential for clinical translation and therefore development of a potential marker of disease.
