Biography
I was born and raised in metro Detroit and am happy to be spending residency here! I received my BA in Psychology and Spanish with a minor in Theatre Arts from Kalamazoo College, where I also spent 6 months studying in Ecuador. I then attended Ross University for medical school and rotated through hospitals in Chicago, Washington D.C., Grand Rapids, and metro Detroit. My interest in psychiatry was sparked by parents who work in the mental health field as a clinical psychologist and school social worker, as well as numerous psychology classes throughout my education. Before starting residency, I spent a year as a substitute teacher, primarily working with emotionally impaired students at a day treatment school. My clinical interests include acute care/emergency psych, as well as child/adolescent psych. Outside of medicine, I've spent lots of time in the performing arts community, playing piano, participating in community theatre, play reading groups, and staged readings, and singing with local choirs.
