Office of Business Administration

Overview

The Office of Business Administration (OBA) is responsible for the financial resources, human resources and business operations of the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neurosciences (DPBN) as well as University Psychiatry Centers (UPC) as they bridge the Wayne State University and Detroit Medical Center systems. Additionally, The OBA handles Post-Award operations of grant accounts. Once a proposal has been successfully approved for funding (either as a new or continuation application), the OBA will setup a WSU account and oversee the management of expenditures. For planning purposes, a monthly report is provided itemizing salaries, supplies, purchase orders, equipment, etc., against budgeted amounts, with projections through the award period. The OBA coordinates personnel appointments on research accounts, and verifies the financial status of an account with the WSU grant accounting office upon yearly close-out.
