Residencies
The Psychiatry Residency Program at WSU provides a comprehensive, dynamic, and supportive environment for the development of future mental health leaders. Situated in the heart of Detroit, our program offers residents the opportunity to engage with diverse patient populations, working alongside renowned faculty and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to address a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
Our residency offers a balanced curriculum hat emphasizes both the science and the art of psychiatry. Residents receive in-depth training in essential areas such as psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, forensic psychiatry, and research, with a strong focus on hands-on clinical experience. Throughout their training, residents gain exposure to various subspecialties, including child and adolescent psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, and geriatric psychiatry, ensuring a well-rounded education.
