Welcome to the DMC/Wayne State General Psychiatry Program website! Our program is based in Detroit, MI with rotations at the Detroit Medical Center and Detroit VA Medical Center. The DMC/WSU psychiatry program offers trainees the opportunity to challenge themselves by managing complicated cases and severe pathology while also focusing on education and work-life balance. We spend time rotating on two different inpatient psychiatry units, consultation liaison services, and a high-volume crisis center. We also spend time building the skills necessary to work in an outpatient clinical setting and receive individualized therapy supervision in supportive therapy, psychodynamic psychiatry, and cognitive behavioral therapy. As a testament to the quality of this program, graduates of our program are competitive upon entering the job market and have obtained fellowships at top ranked academic institutions.
